FILM: DAS RHEINGOLD -- EIN NEIDSPIEL

my biggest project so far.
this film was made for a special festival about the rivalry of the neigboring cities Wiesbaden and Mainz. both cities have a long history of rivalry and prejudices started way before the 2nd world war. for the festival ten shortfilms were produced by students of the universities of mainz and wiesbaden. the films were shown at cinemas in both cities and a dvd got on the market, too.

my film is an adaption of Richard Wagners opera "Das Rheingold". the story was rearranged to fit in a current debate about building a new football stadium at mainz or wiesbaden.
i choose the style of silent movies from Fritz Lang to add a certain satiric taste to the plot.
